Features
Everything LOLA does
A thorough examination register for the examiner, with a clear view for the duty holder. This is what is in it today.
On site
Made for a van, a wet field or a job with no signal.
Phone and tablet first
Large controls and readable text. Work through each item in turn and record its condition as you go.
Scan to find kit
Point the phone camera at the barcode or QR code on an item to bring up its record.
Photos against the serial
Condition photos are filed against each item's serial number and appear on the report with a full-size appendix.
QR labels and serials
Print QR labels for every item on an examination, and generate a unique serial for kit that has none.
Works with no signal
Record whole examinations offline. Everything syncs as soon as the device is back online.
Equipment catalogue
Over 200 products with minimum breaking strength, safe working load, material and maximum lifetime. Pick the model and the details fill in.
Reports
A report the duty holder can read and an inspector would accept.
Laid out to Schedule 1
Every report follows Regulation 9 and Schedule 1 of LOLER 1998, in the same order every time.
Clear results
Safe for use, quarantine, retire or not presented. Items that are or could become a danger are listed separately with the Regulation 10 wording.
Your branding
Company logo, accreditations, company number, insurance and terms on every report you issue.
Signed by the examiner
Name, qualification, address, employment status and signature held on your profile and added to each report.
PDF or email
Issue the report as a PDF, or open an email summary ready for you to attach the PDF and send.
Locked when complete
Completed examinations cannot be edited or deleted. Corrections are opened and recorded, so the history stands up.
Client access
The duty holder sees their records without digging through emails for a spreadsheet.
Private report link
A read-only link the client opens in any browser. No account, no app and no password.
You stay in control
Links run for 90 days. Send a fresh one whenever it is needed, or close a link once it has done its job.
Upload link for old records
Clients send you their past reports and registers through a private upload link. They cannot see anything else, and the files arrive in your Uploads.
Reminder emails
When a client's next examination is within a month, LOLA drafts the reminder to their contact, ready for you to send.
Due dates
Know who is due before they fall out of date.
One list for every client
Everything coming up or overdue across all your clients, sorted by date.
The right interval
Six or twelve months, or the date from an examination scheme. Every examination needs a next due date, so nothing is missed.
Item history
Every item keeps its past examinations. The next examination starts from the last list, so you are not re-keying kit.
Tidy client records
Archive clients you no longer work for, and merge a client entered twice without changing any examination record.
Recalls
Safety notices matched to real kit, not left in an inbox.
Matched to your register
When a manufacturer's safety notice is published, LOLA checks it against every item on your register and shows which clients hold affected kit.
Tell the client
Let each affected client know about the notice and record what was found when the kit is checked.
Rope access and interim checks
Thorough examinations, plus the inspections in between.
Interim inspection checklists
Print a checklist for the duty holder's interim inspections between thorough examinations, based on the kit from their last examination.
Any LOLER kit
Rope access, work at height, rescue and fall protection equipment. Add your own items with their load ratings and lifetimes.
Safety factors handled
Metal, textile and mixed items are treated correctly, with the textile factor applied where the textile part is the weaker link.
Clear lines of responsibility
Pre-use checks stay with the user. LOLA records the thorough examination and supports the interim regime around it.
Teams and data
Room for a sole examiner or a team.
Colleagues by invitation
Invite examiners to your company. Owners and admins control settings, and only an admin can delete a colleague's work.
Bring records in
Import PDF reports and spreadsheets saved as CSV, Excel or OpenDocument, in almost any column layout.
Held in the UK
Data is stored in London. Each company only ever sees its own clients and records.
Yours to take away
Export your records at any time. If a company is closed, there are 30 days to export before anything is deleted.
How LOLA compares
Most LOLER records today live in a spreadsheet, a general checklist app or a kit tracking app built for equipment owners. Each has its place. This is how they compare for an examiner working across many clients.

Questions
Does LOLA make me compliant with LOLER?
LOLA's reports are laid out against Regulation 9 and Schedule 1 of LOLER 1998 and follow the intervals in the Approved Code of Practice. Compliance itself sits with the competent person and the duty holder, as the regulations intend. LOLA makes sure the examination is recorded, reported and followed up properly.
Is it only for arborists?
No. LOLA was built by arboricultural examiners, but it works for any thorough examination of lifting equipment and accessories. Rope access is a close fit, as the kit and the six-month cycle are much the same. Anything not in the catalogue can be added as your own item.
Do my clients need an account?
No. You send the duty holder a private, read-only link and it opens in any browser. There is nothing to install and no password to remember.
How long does a client link last?
Links run for 90 days. You can send a new one at any time, for example when an insurer or site manager asks, and close a link early once it has done its job.
Can I bring my existing records in?
Yes. Import previous reports as PDFs, or registers saved as CSV, Excel or OpenDocument spreadsheets. Clients can also send you their own past reports through a private upload link.
Does LOLA cover pre-use and interim checks?
Pre-use checks remain the user's responsibility. LOLA provides printable interim inspection checklists based on the kit from their last examination, for the checks carried out between thorough examinations.
Where is my data stored?
In London. Each company only sees its own clients and records, colleagues are added by invitation, and you can export your records at any time.
